As a Councillor, I took strong action over 5 years to introduce a Renewable Energy policy and get a 3MW solar farm built in the Shoalhaven. As Mayor of Shoalhaven City Council, from day 1, I will drive towards a sustainable future for our community.

Our roads are crumbling in the face of repeated climate disasters. Shoalhaven City Council finances are not coping with the impacts of continuous natural disasters.
Local young people are demanding real action on renewable energy and measurable reductions in greenhouse gas pollution, because their future depends on it.
Council and the community must constrain emissions; we must do our bit to stabilise a disrupted climate. We must provide hope for the next generation.
The current Sustainability and Climate Policy and Action Plan is even more ambitious. There is a way forward, there are actions to take, Council can move the benefits of renewable energy deep into our community.
But there is no longer action. Our community is not benefiting. No one is doing the work.
As your Mayor, I will focus the CEO and Council on achieving emissions reduction targets and cost savings with renewable energy.
I will ensure the economic benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency get into our community, reducing everyones’ cost of living.
