Meet the Ward 2 team

Joanne Warren, Evan Christen, mayoral candidate, Kaye Gartner, Linda Nowak and Rob Barrel

Ward 2 encompasses the central section of the Shoalhaven.including South Nowra and Terara, coastal towns like Greenwell Point and Culburra Beach down to Hyams Beach and Sanctuary Point.

Linda Nowak is leading the Shoalhaven Greens Ward 2 ticket for the next election in September.. Linda is a science/agriculture teacher with a background in biological science and a strong connection to her East Nowra community.

“I see the pressures on people and households in this area daily,” she says. ” I know this community and see the need for better public spaces and infrastructure.

” My work as a teacher has also allowed me to connect with young people and families in the Bay and Basin area. I’ve gained deep insights into what the next generation are concerned about and what they value in political actions.”

Supporting Linda on the Ward 2 team is current councillor and former deputy mayor, Evan Christen. Also on the Ward 2 team is Rob Barrel who has a diverse background in marine biology and has recently been active opposing housing development in the habitat of the endangered greater glider in Callala.

Joanne Warren is well-known around the Bay and Basin as a teacher, student support officer, and activist. And finally, mayoral candidate, Kaye Gartner has a background in healthcare along with business and management experience to ensure Council is run responsibly and effectively.
