Our popular Mayor, Amanda Findley, is running for the seat of South Coast in the March 2023 state election.
Amanda has represented The Greens in council for over a decade and is serving her second term as Mayor after being re-elected in 2021. She has spearheaded initiatives like establishing our homeless shelter, carbon pollution reduction targets, record investment into the Shoalhaven from other levels of government, removing the Christian prayer at the beginning of meetings to make the council more inclusive.
She also won the 2021 Climate Council’s Climate Ambassador award and has been working closely with the current council looking into housing and homelessness.
“I have been honored to be a part of The Greens for so long,” she says. ” My values of social and environmental justice have been put to good use in helping change attitudes in the Shoalhaven and I want to do that in a bigger way.”
